Your puppy's first year: vaccines and deworming
What shots and deworming your puppy needs, and roughly when.

A good first year protects your puppy from diseases that are still common in the Philippines, such as parvo and distemper. Here is the usual plan; your vet will set the exact dates for your puppy.
Vaccines
- First combination shot (often called 5-in-1 or 6-in-1) at about 6 to 8 weeks, against parvo, distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza and, depending on the vaccine, leptospirosis.
- Boosters every 2 to 4 weeks until about 16 weeks old. One shot is not enough: the series is what builds protection.
- Anti-rabies from about 3 months. The Anti-Rabies Act (Republic Act 9482) requires dogs to be vaccinated against rabies.
- Yearly boosters after that, for life.
Deworming
Puppies are often born with worms. A common plan is every 2 weeks until 3 months old, then monthly until 6 months, then every 3 months.
Until the series is done
- Keep your puppy away from unknown dogs and from places many dogs visit.
- Ask us before visiting parks, beaches or pet shops.
Keep the record
Bring your puppy's vaccine card or booklet to every visit. With CADH, every branch sees the same record, so the next shot is never missed or doubled.
